Thinking about a smart thermostat option

I’ve had the same dial thermostat for over 12 years.

  • It’s a plastic dial device that provides nothing more than the ability to by hand adjust the temperature.

I guess it’s time to upgrade to something a little more new. I’ve been looking into the few styles of smart thermostats available, & I’m amazed by the nice features. I was initially a bit concerned by what some of these features genuinely were. First & foremost, a smart thermostat provides remote access. It can be controlled anywhere through an app on the smartphone or tablet. So if I’m on the couch in our residing room, at our work or lying on a beach half a world away, I could absolutely make adjustments to the thermostat & get information about the house. Even better, the thermostat will interact with other smart systems in the home, such as smart lights, smart locks & air quality accessories. The wireless thermostat can be linked to the home automation system. Modern thermostats are much more appealing than our old plastic dial one. They offer full color touchscreens, which are easy to work, & various can be customized. A proximity sensor makes sure the screen lights up when someone comes near & then turns off after a short stage of inactivity. The thermostat also takes sluggishness out of the equation, but rather than expecting me to set up a program, these smart controls are able to study my schedule & react to our location. With geofencing, there is a boundary set up, & when our phone crosses this perimeter, the thermostat will turn on.
