The school district approved a new HVAC system

Furthermore, unless I purchase multiple air purifiers (one for each room) or get a whole home air purifier, it doesn’t make sense to get just one

After over a year of negotiations, my school district finally decided to upgrade the HVAC systems in the schools. Ever since the pandemic, many parents, including me, have been worried about the indoor air quality in these schools. We were concerned that the old HVAC systems weren’t able to efficiently provide the best environment for the kids. While I enjoyed homeschooling my little ones, I was happy when they were able to return to school. However, going back to school meant that they would’ve been more exposed to the viruses that were being circulated. And this Winter, there have been a few respiratory illnesses that have shown up. The HVAC system can’t prevent the transmission of viruses, but proper ventilation does help to improve the indoor air quality. And the better the air quality the less chances the kids will get sick. At home, I make sure that the air quality is the best it can be. I change the HVAC air filters every 90 days and I vacuum regularly to decrease dust and debris floating in the air. After reading that plants are natural air purifiers, I have always had indoor plants to help improve the indoor air quality. Of course, the plants also add beauty to my home. I have considered buying air purifiers, but I am not quite sure that I need one. Furthermore, unless I purchase multiple air purifiers (one for each room) or get a whole home air purifier, it doesn’t make sense to get just one. I will just continue with my regular protocol to keep my indoor air quality at its optimal level, and I am truly glad that the air quality will be better in the schools as well.
