After retiring, Jim has absolutely gone off the deep end. Joan is not mad about it, if anything she is so jealous.Jim begins his mornings by sitting on the front porch in his bathrobe and smoking a humongous joint. He doesn’t care who sees him. Jim just reads the paper, drinks lots of coffee, and smokes weed for an hour or so. Joan can’t join him, except on weekends, because she has to work. Jim makes fun of Joan when she leaves for her job. “Enjoy the rat race” he says to her every day. Similar to Jim, Joan is a heating and cooling service expert. She followed in his footsteps and got her Heating and A/C certification soon after graduating from high school. Aside from teasing her sporadically, Jim has constantly been Joan’s biggest supporter. He is the one who got her the Heating and A/C expert position she currently holds. Their roles have been reversed, because for years Joan was the one who smoked weed while Jim suited up and went to work at the Heating and A/C company. After she’s done working for the afternoon, Jim likes to ask what kind of heating and cooling repairs Joan had to do. After working full time as an Heating and A/C expert for 40 years, Jim still has an affection for the HVAC industry. There have even been times when Joan got stumped by a tricky air conditioning system repair, so she phoned Jim at lake house to ask for his advice. You could say that Heating and A/C is their family business.
