HVAC challenges come with the holidays

It took a very long time but the love for the Christmas holidays has returned to my heart.

It was a long time that I really just didn’t want anything to do with that particular holiday. Thanks to my wife, I’m back to being able to enjoy that special time of year. It’s still just October and I’m already excited about Christmas. HVAC cooling has hardly let up from summer and I’m already thinking about winter. This is definitely a big reversal from when I really hated Christmas. This was due to the fact that my parents were divorced and it ended up just being me who had to do the decorating. With my mom, she was all about orchestrating and not actually involved in the effort. And her ordering me around to do her decorations for Christmas was where I began to hate that time of year. Also my mom kept the gas furnace just cranking all winter long. I think she had a thermostat setting that was designed for discomfort. Again thanks to my wife, I’ve learned to love Christmas all over. However, there is still a sort of HVAC adjustment I have to make. Since my wife burns so many holiday candles at Christmas, that wax ends up on the air filter for the HVAC. So before those holiday candles get lit after Thanksgiving, I go to the home improvement store to buy a case of HVAC air filters. That’s just how much wax ends up in the air and then on the air filter. I literally have to change the the air filter almost weekly. But it’s not too big a deal since I just love the atmosphere in our home when all those candles are lit.
