Every day, I just dreaded that first few seconds once I walked in the front door to my home.
It sort of hit me in the face and it was most unpleasant.
The smell was sort of dank and the air just seemed so thick was airborne contaminants. It seemed like I was always fighting some sort of sinus issue. When the HVAC equipment cycled on, it seemed like my respiratory issues just got that much worse. As I do with many other areas of my life when I have questions, I went to the internet. It didn’t take too long at all to figure out just what was the problem was. For the first time, I understood what good indoor air quality was and how the HVAC was part of that. The air in my home was simply overcome with airborne contaminants and I was doing nothing at all to help the situation. I thought the HVAC air filters were actually catching all the contaminants in allergens. That wasn’t at all the case. My cheap air filters we’re only protecting the HVAC equipment not my respiratory health. So I upgraded HVAC air filter to a HEPA filter. The change has been most satisfactory. It’s really nice to walk into my house and breathe in without wanting to sneeze or cough. There’s so much less dust as well. The HEPA filter is but a small thing that can make an enormous difference in any home. I’m just glad that I finally figured that out and that could indoor air quality is a priority in my home.
