I’m trying to accept the fact that I really am getting older.
So slowing down a lot physically has been part of that acceptance.
But I’m really lucky we chose to retire early and move to this region. We have loved being so active for the last 20 years of retirement. My wife and I have been able to live inside a nice house with great air conditioning. Also spent lots of time outside doing our thing. When I was offered an early retirement to leave a commercial HVAC of the office, it was a game-changer. It was worth taking a small penalty to have nearly 10 years of additional retirement. And we put those extra 10 years to good use with lots of adventures. However, we’re slowing down now. There are days when my body is still recovering from an outing and I just don’t feel like getting outside of the air conditioning. Where we make our home comes with plenty of HVAC in the summer. So when my wife suggested that we put a sunroom on the house, we knew that there would need to be some air conditioning as well. The sunroom actually feels like a whole new part of the house and I love it. After the HVAC crew finished up installing the ductless heat pump we had the sunroom of our dreams. I have to say I’m so impressed with the ductless heat pump. That piece of HVAC technology really is phenomenal. So now, we can enjoy being in the sun and still have some HVAC cooling so we’re not dying from the heat. All of this is really made it a lot easier to accept that I have to slow down.
