I went around to the front of the beachside house where I found the note, to see if they had left a key somewhere close by, however all I got me was nearly arrested, however apparently, the neighbor thought I was trying to find a way to sneak into the house, plus called the police on me.
I thought that I had seen everything about Heating as well as Air Conditioning, however I was dead wrong! In the twenty years since I started as an Heating as well as Air Conditioning service tech, I have encountered numerous situations with air conditioning units; With them being located outdoors, numerous people get paranoid about people doing damage to the A/C unit… This marked the first time that I had encountered an A/C system that was locked inside a cage. I had never seen an A/C unit locked up. There was a note on the cage door telling myself and others to repair the A/C unit, however no one was there to unlock the cage. I thought maybe they had not locked the padlock, however I was wrong. When the police officer showed up, I showed him the Heating as well as Air Conditioning ID, plus took him back to the air conditioning unit. After showing him the ID and the note, he pursed his lips to keep from laughing, however he had the same reaction as I did about the big cage around the air conditioning unit. The cop asked myself and others where I found the note plus walked with myself and others over onto the front porch so that he could check for a key to the lock. He offered to get a crowbar out of his squad car so that the people I was with and I could open up the gate, however I told him I could call the Heating as well as Air Conditioning company, then both of us would reschedule repairs for when the homeowners were there.
