Right after I married Bob, I received a summons from the court in the county where I lived shortly before getting married.
They had charged myself and others over bills for a more current temperature control in a home I hadn’t lived in for multiple years before getting married to Bob.
I tried to call the home complex office, however no one would talk to me. I had to drive almost 120 miles to the court house to inquire about the summons. I was told that when I left the old apartment; the superintendent had to change the temperature control unit, and since I was the last person to be in that apartment, it was our responsibility to pay for the current temperature control unit. I questioned if there was any damage to the temperature control unit, however the person to whom I was talking didn’t know. I explained to him how I had not lived in that home for over multiple years, plus there was damage that I had done, why was it not billed to myself and others earlier? I also showed him a lot of information I had garnered off the Internet, which said that I was not responsible for paying for such services if I was not responsible for them. He said that all he had was the paperwork, plus that I had to pay the bills plus all the additional charges from the court, plus late fees. I asked what would happen if I refused to pay, plus he told myself and others they had the right to put an injunction out against me, but Bob told myself and others to hire a lawyer, however I could not see the extra fees I would have to pay Bob’s lawyer. I was sure it would cost myself and others more to get a lawyer than what it would be to pay all the bills for the temperature control unit.
