One of our most egregious pet peeves is when someone calls myself and others on the horn plus start to ask all these personal questions. By the PC number, I should guess they are random calls that are either trying to sell myself and others a service, or tell myself and others they have canceled our social security numbers, or some other stupid reason for calling me. Lately, I have had insurance agents stop by our beach beach house trying to sell random insurance policies. I guess I haven’t invited them to our home, however there they are. Last week, I was in the middle of cooking breakfast when someone showed up at our beachside house about a life insurance policy I applied for. I knew nothing about them, plus I absolutely hadn’t applied for more life insurance. This week, I had someone come over to the beach house offering to deliver myself and others a quote on a current air conditioning unit? My hubby Dave wanted to guess who told them I needed a current air conditioning unit? He told Dave that a neighbor of ours had given him our names. If Dave and I bought an air conditioning unit from him, they would receive theirs for free. I wanted the full name of that friend, because I didn’t guess they were much of a friend. I bought a more current air conditioning unit at the start of Summer plus everyone who knew myself and Dave was aware of the current A/C unit. I told the sales agent that if I found out who had given our names to him, they would wear the current air conditioning unit. He blanched plus walked away more abruptly than he walked in.
