The property owner was a jerk and threw my window a/c away.

When I moved out of my old place, I told the property owner I would remove all of my belongings from the house before my lease was up.

  • Two afternoons later, before the end of the week, I went back to the place to take the rest of my clothing, night stand, sofa, carpets, and window air conditioning unit.

When I walked into the small apartment, everything was gone. All of My old clothes, nightstand, sofa, carpets, and window air conditioning system devices had been thrown into the dumpster behind the house building. My Mom stood by and took in the empty apartment, then asked me where everything went to. I was looking through the window, and I could see my things at the top of the dumpster; Mom went along with me to confront the superintendent. He told me ‌I had 10 afternoons to get my things out, and the 10 afternoons were up. My father took the lead and told him ‌I still had 2 full afternoons on my lease, and they had no right throwing away any of my property. The superintendent got indignant, and my father read him the riot act. My Mom is a lawyer, and he was quick to point out each thing the superintendent had done wrong. Not only did he have to pay for my clothes, nightstand, sofa, carpets, and the 2 window air conditioning system units, but he would make them provide me back the last 2 afternoons of rent that I paid. The superintendent got angry and blustered something about disfigurements to the apartment, and my father gave him an evil look. I am sure I’ll be getting all of my original down payment back, along with my property disfigure, and 2 more modern window air conditioning system units.
