Our lakeside house was demolished due to Flooding

Everyone in this section of town knows what could happen when the people I was with and I have a lot of rain. The creek is always the first place to overflow its banks, and then the rivers. The creek that runs behind the lakeside house is consistently overflowing, however it hasn’t ever gone further than about 10 feet from our home. If the flooding gets bad enough, and the river creek,, Max and I can be in for a lot of trouble. Last week, the river came up so quickly that Max and I did not have time to prepare. One minute the creek was covering half the yard, and within 10 minutes, the water was surrounding our house. Max and I got out of the lake house and away from it just in time to watch the water enter the house. Max and I knew it did not look nice when the people I was with and I saw pieces of the bridge that crossed the creek just a mile down the road, floating through our yard. A month later, Max and I were heading back to our house. All of us did not expect what Max and I saw. All of us knew there was a lot of water surrounding it. Since there was flood water in the house, the people I was with and I would have mud and debris everywhere. Max and I did not expect to see our lake house off its foundation, and everything destroyed. When the lakeside house was demolished, someone made the comment that our natural gas furnace could still be good. I don’t guess if they entirely thought Max and I would grab the gas furnace and put it on our truck and drive away, or if Max and I were going to leave it behind for someone else to take. All I knew is that if there was enough flood water to take my lake house off the foundation, neither the natural gas furnace nor the air conditioning system would be worth salvaging.
