I was miserable when I realized that I really had to get a new HVAC installation.
What made me feel so bad was the fact that I knew this installation was going to cost a lot of money.
The thing is, I had been saving up for a new car. My buddies were always making fun of my old clunker vehicle, and I was going to show them when I had my near car with built-in heating in the seats. My wife made it clear though that the heating system was struggling too much and the repairs were becoming too costly. She told me that in her book, that was a sign to have the heating system replaced. We actually went to the local HVAC supplier together to look at the different systems. My wife was instantly drawn to the radiant heated floors demonstration, and I thought it was all pretty cool as well. The heating that was coming up through the floors was amazing. When we learned the average cost of installation based on the square footage of our home, I was stunned. My wife looked at me and said, “Haven’t you been saving up a lot of money over the past years?” I told her she knew it was for my new car that I had been looking to get. I almost had enough money to get it, but suddenly it seemed that I was going to blow all my money on this new HVAC installation. I said the radiant heated floors were nice, but we could always just go for a standard central HVAC that was similar to our old one but more energy efficient. I could tell she was desperate to have radiant heated floors though, so I caved in and spent all my money for the new heating installation.
