My dad has always been a really controlling kind of guy. He is the type of person that has to always be in charge of everything. So it wasn’t too much of a surprise when his controlling nature carried on over to the thermostat as well. I live in a very mixed family when it comes to temperature preferences. I prefer cooler temperatures, but not cold. My dad is just the opposite when it comes to temperatures, as he likes it hot. My mom and siblings all prefer room temperature. However it doesn’t matter what we want, my dad considers himself to be the man of the house and so he makes the rules regarding the thermostat and my mom just goes along with it. If any of us dare to touch the thermostat without his explicit permission he will fly into a rage. I really wish my mom would stand up to him and stop allowing him to be so demanding, but she always finds a way to make an excuse for his bad behavior. Well with the summer heat outside, the air conditioner ended up breaking down and he ranted and raved about it breaking for over an hour. It was with great reluctance that he called a heating and cooling professional out to our home to service the issue. Luckily it wasn’t anything major and the cooling specialist was successfully able to perform the repair.
