I’m very happy with my new job.
- I spent several weeks looking for a new place of employment after I decided to quit my job at the grocery store.
I was working in the bookkeeping department. I had been with the company for 13 years when a brand new owner bought the business. The new management team made a lot of changes that I did not find to be helpful for the store and I voiced my complaints. After nothing changed, I decided to quit and seek employment elsewhere. I went to a temporary work agency and they gave me a couple of part-time jobs and then I found a full-time gig working for a local HVAC repair shop. The repair shop has been very busy and the owner was looking for someone to help with the bookkeeping and office tasks. I applied for the job and received a call for an interview the following day. I met with the owner of the shop and it was a guy that actually went to high school with me. He gave me the office receptionist and bookkeeper job and my office has a wonderful view of the harbor. I rearranged my furniture so I have a great view of the docks and the shipyard. I spend most of the day answering phone calls and arranging appointments. When I have a break for lunch, I like to watch the water and the birds that fly near the building. I can see at least twenty different kinds of birds from the window. During the summer, the number of birds is even higher.
