I had left my wife the house and other assets.
I wanted a fresh start, so I went to work in a new town and bought a small house. The house was in a lovely neighbourhood and would be comfortable for the kids when they came to stay with me. Apart from needing a little upgrading, it had many working appliances plus a good AC system. The previous owner had replaced the AC unit only a year back, so it was still in excellent condition. Still, I wanted an AC mechanic to come and look at the heating unit when I moved in. My realtor gave me contacts of an AC company in the area since I was new. After booking an appointment, an AC expert arrived at my home two hours later, which was not the best first impression. We had agreed an AC mechanic would come an hour after the call. Apart from being late, the AC expert seemed off a bit. It’s only when he got closer to me that I noticed he was drunk. I wondered how he expected to work on the AC system when he could hardly carry his tool bag. He went to the AC unit and wanted to work on it without turning it off. That was the last straw, and I asked him to leave. Such careless behavior could end up causing so much damage in my home. After making some bad remarks, he left, but the AC company was not apologetic when I complained. I had to search for a new HVAC business to work with after that disappointing experience. The real estate agent was shocked when I told her what had happened.
