Haven’t had much luck with heating

My beach home can have a big, ugly boiler in the basement.

I hated the look of it and that it took so much space up.

In the kitchen there were multiple metal grates in the floor. It looked exhausting and so trashy, then so I decided to cover up multiple of the grates and just leave the large one in the center of the kitchen. In the summer time I covered it with a carpet square so it wasn’t as noticeable. In the Wintertide I just dealt with that ugly grate. Since I cut so multiple access points for the heater, the boiler idea had a hard time heating my entire house. The one grate just didn’t actually do the trick. I had to invest in a ventless furnace for the home office and an upstairs electric heater. The time finally came when I decided on no more boiler system. I updated it with a gas fireplace to kneel right in the kitchen and covered up the last grate. The kitchen does look way fancier and classier. I got a faux wood burning fire with a glass front plate. There is a little step that you can stand on to be near the fire. It is long enough that I can set up a bunch of holiday decorations. The downside is that the fireplace isn’t all that great at heating. It frequently needs repair because it gets dirty. The remote start never seems to work either. The amount of heating it gives off doesn’t even compare to the boiler system.
