We all had quite a scare in my neighborhood the other week.
There was a big explosion noise that we all thought was a house blowing up! We all were not sure what happened since there was no smoke or fire.
And also all houses seemed to be completely intact. It came to turn out that my neighbor’s hot water boiler exploded in his basement! Lucky for him no one was down there when it happened and no one was hurt. His basement was flooded though and had tons of debris of the remains from the hot water boiler. There had to be a mini river in his basement as a result of this. The city had to be called to patch some things up. Then a special clean up company had to be called to clean up the river in the basement and the remains of the hot water boiler pieces. It was a very close call all together. My neighbor had said that he should have got rid of that hot water boiler years ago but just was too lazy and cheap to do so. But now he had no choice. He said he is now going to get central heating and air conditioning in his home like everyone else has. At least with central heating and air conditioning you will never have to worry about something potentially tragic and life risking happening like this! But at the same time, if my neighbor had paid attention to the pressure gage on the hot water boiler he could have avoided the explosion all together.
