Talk about a time when you were too hot and air conditioning was your saving grace.

They always warn you that when you are pregnant everything bothers you in ways that you have never been bothered before.

I laughed at the thought because the first two trimesters were perfect other than just a little extra exhaustion at night.

We also happen to live in a climate that only has a few months of super warm and humid weather. Once the summer showed up it became obvious very quickly that the heat was going to be a big issue. There was no way I was going to make three more months without air conditioning. So the phone call was made to the to see if our current set-up could have an air conditioning unit installed. When the HVAC service showed up they were very sympathetic to the situation however without spending a small fortune we were unable to add the whole house unit we were hoping for. When the addition was made to the house we are renting, they never updated the HVAC system to extend the heat ducts up to the bedrooms on the second floor. We were faced with two options, temporarily switch our bedroom until after the baby came or hold off on buying the whole house HVAC unit or just buy an air conditioning unit for the room we were already in. Fortunately for us they make a portable HVAC unit and we are now able to sleep comfortably with our new air conditioner. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time with my feet up in bed and the cool air blowing at me awaiting the arrival of my baby boy.
