I think I called the HVAC company too early.

I was having problems with my furnace, and I wasn’t sure what was wrong.

I had heard we were to have a snowstorm by the end of the week, so I called the HVAC company.

I didn’t want to go without heating in the middle of a snowstorm. After making the phone call, I started second guessing myself. What if the furnace only glitched and there wasn’t anything wrong. What if we took a space away from someone who had serious problems with their furnace? What if a true emergency came in, and the local HVAC technician was trying to find something wrong with our furnace. I knew I should call the HvAC company and cancel the service call, but I was afraid it would jinx my furnace. I was sure that soon after I canceled the service call, my furnace would stop working, and I would need to wait for days to get an HVAC technician to the house. I vacillated back and forth about canceling the HVAC service call. When my husband got home, i told him what had happened, and that I was considering canceling the service call. He said I had already called and the HVAC technician would be there any minute to look at the furnace. Why risk having a break down during the snowstorm? He thought that we should have the furnace checked out, since the HVAC technician was on the way. I was glad I called, because if we had waited much longer, we would have needed a new furnace. I’m glad I let my husband talk me out of canceling the service call.
