My fiance and I had been questioning our child about what she wanted for Christmas, even since Thanksgiving… But she was only more than three and every one of us were sure she had something special she would desire to have, however she would not answer.
She mentioned to myself and others that Santa knew exactly what she wanted, and if she was real, she would get it… I asked her what she told Santa and she offered myself and others 1 of those looks that told myself and others this wasn’t going to work.
I happened to be outside her bedroom when I overheard her speaking to her dolls. She told them that she would make sure they didn’t get cold this year. She had told Santa she needed a new furnace for their dollhouse, and she was sure she was going to buy it for her. I heard her mutter something, and she howled. She told Susie that of course she told him it had to be a red furnace because she knew that was Susie’s favorite color. I now knew that every single one of us could get her for Christmas, but my fiance and I spent nearly a week looking for dollhouse sized furnaces… The two of us found pot belly stoves, fireplaces, and even some space heaters, however no furnaces. The two of us simply opted to buy a pot belly stove, a fireplace, and a space heater, however none of them were red. My fiance bought a small bottle of red nail polish and painted the space heater. I’m also sure that with the note Santa leaves her, she’ll be cheerful with the red space heater, and the two new dolls to finally keep Susie business.
