In every group of friends, there is always one that makes it big. In our case, there are four of us and we have been friends since high school. Each of us has our own lives and families now, but we try our best to keep in touch. One of us made a killing trading stocks while the rest of us are average Joes. Theo and I are in the heating business as HVAC professionals while Matt works in a logistics company. Two years ago, I pitched to Theo about starting our own homeowner solutions company. We would also double up as an HVAC supplier and that is where Matt would come in. We came up with a business plan and during our annual barbecue, we shared our idea with Andy and Matt. Andy would come in as an investor while Andy would be in charge of the shipment and the delivery of the heating equipment. They both loved the idea and were willing to work with us on building what we hoped would be a legacy. Since Theo and I were very conversant with quality heating, we would be key when it came to running the groundwork. Andy and Matt believe in our capabilities as heating contractors because we had installed a dual fuel system in Andy’s home which included an electric furnace and a ductless HVAC. We also alternatively conducted a furnace/heater tune-up. I did not install the system in Theo’s home but as a heating technician, I took care of the annual heat pump service for the ductless heat pump in his home. Two years later our business is still growing and at a very promising rate.
