Turning the Thermostat Off and opening the windows

Without a doubt, our number one time of year is Fall.

Both of us are still in summer time right now, but soon it will be fall, and I will be loving life.

When fall arrives, it is finally time to walts merrily down the hallway, stop at the control unit, and flip that little switch to the off position. Finally, the a/c gets a rest, as does our heating and cooling budget. Then, step number 2 to happiness in Fall is going over to the windows and throwing them wide open to bring in a bunch of fresh air. I entirely care about deep breathing in the cooler weather, when it seems like God himself is exhausted of the heat and sends us natural a/c to enjoy. Since I live in the southeast, I tend to run our cooling system for the majority of the year. Well into the fall is when I get to flip off the control unit (did you see what I did there?) and just care about mother nature. This usually happens about a month before Thanksgiving, and in fact, if I am cooking on Thanksgiving, I have to close the windows back up and turn the cooling system back on because of all that heating bursting forth from the family room. That is just temporary, though, and soon after, I a,k basking in the cooling weather that blows in from outside. Some people have to turn on the heating system or light the fireplace when Winter comes along, even though I find that I rarely use the heating system because I am not a fan of chapped lips. Sometimes I get a humidifier and turn on the heater, though.
