The school was undergoing some significant renovations last summer, all students were at home, we saw it as the perfect opportunity. The updates included new furniture and a new hoops court for the top team. Apart from structural repairs, we also needed to tackle the air conditioning, but last winter had been eventful with the central heating and cooling unit shutting down multiple times, we had to call the A/C repair multiple times for emergency aircon repairs, costing a lot of money. After speaking to the board, we opted to update the old air conditioner with a boiler system. The only time the A/C was in use was while in winter, and water was a better way of delivering thermal energy. The boiler unit business was helpful and answered all the questions we had about the system. We learned that several more significant institutions opted to install a boiler to save on power and reduce maintenance needs. The boiler heating system would need annual maintenance, however it was the right fit for the school. The boiler business gave us multiple options to choose from that had terrific features, and we got to learn more about boiler systems upgrade costs. The air vents both of us had used with the aircon unit would work to give ample warmth to every room. The unit kept heat near the floor, meaning there was little chance of kids and staff getting cold in winter. We had lots of water in the area, so there was little problem with this. The air conditioning upgrade process went on well. We got an opportunity to test the heating unit before the children returned from their holidays. A few problems cropped up, including a faulty control unit. The A/C business was more than willing to come and make repairs. We also signed a boiler unit maintenance plan for annual servicing.
