I thought my cousin was funny because he was spoiled and acted like he was better than everybody. I guess he met his match when he was around me because there wasn’t anything he could do that was better than me. I was a faster runner when we were young, I drove better when we were older and I always had been a step ahead of him. He honestly had a pretty nice car with a nicer climate control system and other nice features, but I had a classic car that was faster than his and one-of-a-kind. Whenever he wanted to race, I put him to shame every single time. Eventually, he was bragging that he was going to inherit his mother’s house. The funny thing is that he thought he was just going to inherit everything without having to do any work or lift a finger. It was hilarious when he got a rude wake up call that he had to get a career in order to inherit the home. That’s what was written in the will and that was not going to change. I was sad when my aunt passed away while he was freaking out trying to figure out how he was going to get a career. I told him he should consider going to a trade school and then he could get a very good career. So he ended up going to a trade school to earn his HVAC certification. It was sad seeing him fail the certification test multiple times, but eventually he got it. The beautiful thing is that becoming an HVAC professional humbled him and he actually enjoys doing the work for a change. That’s something I never thought I would see happen, and I’m actually proud of him.
