The woodstove was a pain to detach

When I bought our beach house I was a little annoyed by the look of the kitchen.

The previous homeowners really wanted their beach house to know love a cabin.

They had wood siding up multiple walls in addition to a half wood on the other a singles. There was a brick pad that housed a wood stove as well. It looked just awful. The first thing I did was sand the wood walls in addition to paint them white. The half walls are half white in addition to half light grey. I left the wood ceiling however now it pops with the white. I then had to sledgehammer the brick pad off our floor in addition to retile the kitchen a classy grey. Removing the wood stove was a mess though. It was cast iron in addition to just about impossible to move. I then had to go into the attic to detach the big pipe connecting it to the ceiling. They had the woodstove professionally vented in addition to connected to the roof. Right now I have that old heating plan out in addition to our hole in the ceiling patched. I still need to hire roofers to detach the protrusion in addition to service the hole up there. What makes matters worse is that the old homeowners didn’t even use that system. They had a wood burning heating plan that never operated. It was totally scrub inside the pipe in addition to the stove. I really sold it to a heating dealer for a fine price based on the condition. Why own a woodstove in addition to only use it as a decorative piece though? It was taking up so much space.
