Judging a book by it’s cover can be rather embarrassing at times.
I work at a tea shop, and I work the opening shift myself every afternoon, and you’d suppose that both of us would be slammed early in the day, however this is not the case at all, then coffee is so trendy right now that dinner time is the slowest time of day for our store. There is 1 guy though, who is there every afternoon, and he comes in, uses our washroom to clean up, and then gets tea and a snack, every day care about clockwork. He always drives this large Heating & A/C work van, and I came to realize that he lived in that van… One afternoon I asked him about how he can own his Heating & A/C corporation and still not have a locale to live. He told myself and others the most good story, and explained how this Heating & A/C corporation was the foundation for the rest of his life. He was an immigrant, and needed to save up enough money to bring the rest of his family here, so 100% of the Heating & A/C profits were going towards that, however by living in the Heating & A/C van he saved thoUSAnds of dollars on rent and utilities, and his dream was getting closer every day. Over time he would bring in his family, get a nice locale to live, and turn the Heating & A/C mobile repair into a storefront, that he would be able to pass down to his kids. This struggling Heating & A/C guy is a tribute to American exceptionalism, and I always supply him a free tea now out of respect.
