Every public building should have AC

Benjamin Franklin was known for numerous things, not the least of which was his numerous wise statements.

“Nothing in this life is certain except death and taxes,” is one example.

“Guests, like fish, begin to smell in three days,” is another saying. I can really attest to both of these! My husband and I have dear friends who stay with us each year, travelling from another part of the county. However, we have learned that we appreciate their visit for about the first three days Anything longer and my husband and I begin to wish they would just leave. If they come while in the Wintertime months, my husband and I find that they prefer to keep their guest room plus bathroom windows open at all times. However, if it’s while in the warmer months, they do the same. Either way, it makes our heating and A/C bills sky high while they are visiting. My husband and I have politely suggested that they keep the windows closed, explaining that the oil furnace never stops running in the Wintertime plus the cooling system never stops in the summer. They smile politely as if they understand. But the next morning, it’s always the same. Our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C repairman, while in one of her yearly service appointments, confirmed that windows should consistently be closed once the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C unit is on. Not only does it mess with the heating or the cooling of the home; it also adds stress on the entire Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system. Eventually the added stress could lead to a malfunction of the oil furnace or the cooling system. Sadly, my husband and I believe we cannot keep approaching the subject with our out of village guests. So we have chosen stress on our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C plan over problems with our friendship.
