I pride myself in my excellent gift giving.
- Whenever the holidays roll around, or I have a birthday party to attend, I like to go above and beyond with my gifts.
I don’t mean that I spend a ton of money on a lavish gift that will make a scene. Instead, I put a lot of thought and effort into the gifts I select for people. I have a running list on my phone with all the important people in my life, and whenever I think about a gift idea that would be appreciated by a specific person, I write it down. Last week, one of my best friends had a housewarming party. He and his wife had just bought their first home together, and they were celebrating with their closest friends and family. The two of them never had an official wedding, so I wanted to bring them a gift for their new home instead. My go-to gift for a situation like this, is a one year HVAC service plan. I know how daunting it can be, trying to take care of a new home along with an HVAC system. The annual HVAC service plan would give them two free services by an HVAC professional, a 20% discount on all HVAC parts and accessories at the local hardware store, and a 10% discount on all extra services that were outside the normal service fee. When I gave them their gift, they were blown away. I was expecting this of course, because most people would bring a bottle of wine, a new toaster, or a hardware store gift card. I know they’ll appreciate the annual HVAC servicing, and it will save them money in the long run.
