My new roommate has to be insane. We have been friends for a while, and he seemed like a pretty normal guy. He has been fun to hang out with, but I discovered quite the major quirk in his personality when I decided to be his roommate. It’s the middle of July and he insists on using barely any air conditioning in our apartment! He sets the thermostat to 80 degrees, which means the air hardly ever kicks on! It’s hot and stuffy in the apartment and I don’t understand how he lived in such conditions for so long. Now he had a roommate to help pay the utility bill, and he still insisted on his warm temperatures. I guess you can act Lemay to anything, but this was ridiculous. He bragged about how low is energy bill was, but it just wasn’t worth it to me. I finally convinced him that I would pay the vast majority of the energy bill if it meant turning the thermostat down a few degrees! He seemed unconvinced, but he eventually gave in. After that, you more or less let me have complete control over the thermostat. I was glad to finally have a nice, cool apartment! All of a sudden, he didn’t seem to be bothered by the lower temperatures. That got me thinking for a moment. Maybe setting ridiculously warm temperatures on the thermostat was all a part of his ploy to get me to agree to pay the vast majority of the energy bill! I did not like the thought of that!
