The last thing my family needed this Christmas was a furnace breakdown. Problems began to develop on the 23rd of December. We were going to have family members and friends over for Christmas! The high on Christmas day was going to be 26° so there was no way that we could do without any form of heat! The problem seemed to be air flow and fan motor related. It seemed like the HVAC companies around town were all booked for several days! We were discussing the problem with some family members over the Internet when I discovered that one of my cousins is actually in the HVAC trade. He said that he could set out early and get to our house before the rest of the relatives and see if he could fix the problem. He arrived early on Christmas Eve night. By then, were freezing, although we did pick up a couple of portable heating units from the store. Long story short, he managed to get the problem fixed just as relatives were arriving for Christmas dinner. Precious, warm air filled our home once more! My cousin was an absolute lifesaver. We all thoroughly enjoyed Christmas, though my cousin did have to take a nice, long nap during some of the festivities. He had worked very hard all Christmas Eve night and into early Christmas morning to get the heat working again. He informed the kids that he said hello to Santa Claus when the jolly old elf stopped by in the middle of his work and vouched that they had been good!
