Adding a cute cover

There are multiple benefits to purchasing a cover for your outdoor AC condenser unit, however not only do they conceal the sizable & chucky component kneeling alongside your house, but it protects it from the elements of nature… What started out as a way to hide our AC unit, turned into a real money saving solution! There are tons of multiple AC component covers to choose from online.

A lot of them are bag-like covers that you slip on & off whenever you’re not using your a/c, but you could also make your own AC component cover.

I did the latter, & it’s been worth every penny. I built our own a/c cover out of scrap wood our spouse had lying around. Not only is it cuter, but it’s more durable than a basket & will last much longer. When I was constructing the AC component cover, I had to consider a few things, first, our AC component still needed to breathe & needed space. Second, the cover would be built to shield it from the sun, leaves, twigs, & any other natural elements that could harm the system, lastly, I needed an AC component cover that could be really moved. Our HVAC worker needed access to our a/c plan at least twice a year, & I wanted it to be straight-forward, because of this, I added a small latch door that could be really opened & closed. I can’t believe it took me so long to build our own AC component cover! It’s been an amazing investment for our home.
