I will admit that when we first moved in to this house, I was a little bit concerned about the boiler.
I had never lived in a home that was heated by a boiler system before, and the very idea intimidated me just a little bit. I kept thinking that the boiler might explode and somehow we would all scald to death in our beds. But once I talked to our HVAC technician about the boiler, he made me feel much better about the whole thing. He also told me that when you have a boiler system, it’s much easier to connect them to radiant heated flooring in the rest of your house. When he told me that, I was immediately sold on the idea. He had no clue that I’d always dreamed of having radiant heated floors in my bathroom and bedroom! But radiant heated flooring can be kind of expensive. My husband and I saved up for several months and then we had our HVAC company come out and do an estimate for us. We wanted to know just how much it would cost to link our boiler system to brand new radiant heated flooring. When he took the measurements and came back with the plan and the cost, we were pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t going to cost us nearly as much to install and run the radiant heated flooring as we had initially thought! As a matter of fact, linking your boiler system to heated floors is actually very cost effective in the great scheme of things.
