Getting a Cardiac Catheterization In a Room With Freezing A/C

I had to go to the hospital to get a cardiac catheterization done.

When they were taking myself and others upstairs where the cardiac cath lab was, I was shivering.

I told the aide that they must have be giving away free a/c that week. She laughed and said that this area was used only for cardiac catheterization tests. People tended to get overheated which caused an odd stress on the body than what the tests were trying to measure. For that reason, they kept the thermostat a bit lower to give more useful test results and keep the patients more comfortable. I got up to the testing room and I was surprised that I could not lay in a chair for the cardiac cath. I had to wear a revealing hospital gown, and I did need to get the old IV injection. Within a cut ninth, I was unconscious and my heart was being catheterized. I was starting to sweat and I couldn’t think the adrenaline rush I felt. There was a tall fan blowing on me and the doctor. I also have learned they keep the AC running so cold to cut down on germs, too. I abruptly knew why the AC unit was running so cold. The AC was for those of us who had to have this test done. The test doesn’t cause pain, but it abruptly gives your heart and body the feeling that it is having a heart attack. When the cardiac procedure was done, they took myself and others back downstairs. I was quite happy the a/c wasn’t set as low here, but I now understood the difference in temperatures throughout various locations in the same building.
