This week I wanted to go to the aquarium with my girlfriend but unfortunately it was closed due to air conditioning repairs
My family started taking me on day trips when I was a little kid. Sometimes we would go to the zoo and look at the various animals for hours at a time. My siblings were huge fans of the zoo, in part because they got to ride the camels. I was scared of getting on the camels after a weird experience when I was 6 years old, so I never got on a camel again. Other times we would head to the beach and just go swimming for the afternoon. Because of my pale skin, I would usually get burned really easily. I would have to wear sunscreen and reapply it constantly throughout the afternoon. It’s hard finding something that you can do without getting hurt all the time. One of the things that we ended up doing that I enjoyed the most was going to the aquarium. Our City aquarium had one of the biggest manatee exhibits in the state. And it was always a treat for me to be able to spend a few hours at the aquarium before ending up in the gift shop at the end. The city I live in now has an aquarium but it’s fairly old. It’s constantly needing repairs on one thing or another, especially the large tanks holding the sharks. This week I wanted to go to the aquarium with my girlfriend but unfortunately it was closed due to air conditioning repairs. The old air conditioners in the aquarium had started to break down after being in use for over 20 years. It made sense to me that they needed to be repaired and that the whole aquarium needed to be shut down so the HVAC repairs could be completed. Hopefully the aquarium will open up again soon with the new air conditioning systems in use.
