Retirement and the heat pump are perfect fit

For the last year prior to me hanging it up and calling it a career, I was actually sort of terrified.

Retirement was something that sort of existed in some sort of mysterious ether for me.

I really didn’t think that I’d ever be able to just stop working. But then came the last day that I would spend inside the zone controlled HVAC of those offices. And it was a good day with lots of nice things being said and good feelings being shared. But the next day when I woke up, I was really scared that I wasn’t going to be able to handle retirement. My wife and I had already upgraded the HVAC equipment on our old house and sold it. So we are actually living in a rented condo while I finished out the last 6 months of my career. Once I finished inside the commercial HVAC of those offices, the plan was to move to the south. This has been something that we had been planning for at least five years prior to me retiring. We’re fortunate enough to be able to have a decent little retirement home and kick back for the rest of our lives. I just wasn’t so sure that kicking back was something I could do. But now that I’ve traded the gas furnace for a heat pump in the south, I couldn’t be happier. For sure, retirement comes heavily recommended as far as I’m concerned. I love living where I don’t have to deal with the high cost of heating a home and I get to be outside year round. As for the working, believe it or not, I really don’t miss it.
