You size an HVAC system based on the size of the house

I was sure I knew what size heating and A/C plan I needed for my house, then I had done some measurements and compared them to the FAQ’s on the heating and A/C supplier website.

I measured each room, and knew how many control units I would need for the Zone Control, and where the zones should be. When the heating and A/C serviceman arrived, he told myself and others I needed a weird size heating and A/C system. I told him I mentioned it depended on the size of the house, and he explained the size of the house was 1 of the measurements; then they needed to figure how much HVAC duct there was, and if I wanted to heat the basement, attic, or garage. They needed to think how several people were in the house, and if it was a low or high traffic house. I wanted to ask why they didn’t put all that information on the FAQ page, despite the fact that I didn’t want to sound stupid. When he said that he needed to think about what kind of efficiency I was looking for, I had no idea what he meant. He talked to myself and others about efficiency ratings, and what the words efficiency rating meant. He said it wasn’t about how much energy the heating and A/C plan used, however how much it expended. If I wanted something that worked efficiently and with high efficiency in heating, AC, and energy, it would be a bit more costly, and I would need a more accurate measurement. I told him I wanted to afford the fuel, and get as much heat and A/C out of the heating and A/C system as I could.
