What are the warning signs that your A/C needs to be replaced?

The writing was clear to me when I needed to replace my HVAC unit.

And because I saw it coming, I was already preparing to make the hefty financial investment into a new unit.

The first signs that my A/C was on the decline came during the Summer when I realized that it was taking longer for the HVAC unit to cool my home. Of course, this meant that my energy bill increased because of this. Another sign that indicated I needed to replace my unit was that it broke down more than before and I began to spend extra money on HVAC maintenance. Normal A/C units will require maintenance only once per year, and if all goes well, you should have very little issue. Plus, my HVAC technician advised me that the unit should be replaced soon. Not to mention that the A/C was over 15 years old, which is around the recommended time to replace an HVAC unit. So, as you can tell, the signs were all there for me to see. Because I didn’t want to continue to pay extra maintenance, especially because every time the unit broke, there was an expensive part that needed to be replaced. HVAC units are very resilient machines, but they too have a life expectancy. The good news is, I was able to purchase a new HVAC unit, which means I won’t be having any major issues with the equipment anytime soon. In fact, the only thing that I need to do is to perform the yearly maintenance and to replace the filters every season.
