I scheduled the furnace tune-up because the furnace was shutting off

The technician told me there are tons of reasons why the system used to run for longer than it does now, but he told me that it is actually better for the system if it runs for shorter amounts of time

I’ve been experiencing some problems with my furnace. I think it is shutting off too quickly. It seems to come on for 30 or 45 minutes and then it shuts off. It used to run for an hour or two and now it just turns off quickly. I decided to schedule a furnace tune up because of the problem. I thought that a tune-up would be a great way to get an overall idea of the condition of the furnace while also having someone eyeball the actual problem that was occurring. Furnaces have normal wear and tear as they get older, and the furnace can decrease in efficiency. Regular maintenance tune-ups can keep the system from aging too quickly. The furnace repair technician was very thorough with the examination of the furnace, but he did not find any problems at all. In fact, the furnace repair technician said that the condition of the furnace was very good. It did not look like the furnace was run down or in bad shape. The technician told me there are tons of reasons why the system used to run for longer than it does now, but he told me that it is actually better for the system if it runs for shorter amounts of time. The longer the furnace is running, the more the power bill is going up, up, up. I guess I never thought about it like that until the furniture repair technician put it in those terms. I guess it doesn’t matter how long the furnace runs as long as it is keeping the house up to temperature.
