I decided to schedule a tune-up for the air conditioner in my home.
It didn’t seem to be operating efficiently. The machine was staying on for hours and hours and not shutting off. I contacted the heating and AC repair service, when I had 2 months in a row when the energy bill was much higher than I anticipated. I also felt much less airflow coming from the air vents. I contacted the Professional Heating and AC repair service and scheduled an AC tune-up. The lady on the phone said that a tune-up would be able to find any problems if there was actually an issue with the ac. The lady on the phone also reminded me that the air conditioner can only remove so much heat and humidity from the air. If it’s 100° outside during the day, I cannot expect the air conditioner to cool the house to 68 degrees without some type of problem or wear and tear. I scheduled the air conditioner maintenance service for tuesday. The maintenance service contractor checked all of the refrigerant levels and looked for leaks. He also checked the electrical and physical connections. He cleaned that outdoor condenser and the area around the machine. He also cleaned the condensing drainage system. It was filled with green algae. As the guy was cleaning out the drainage system, I saw all of the algae come out the other side. It was really gross and disgusting. The maintenance technician thought that could be one of the reasons why the AC was not working very efficiently.
