Relief from the air conditioner

My a/c isn’t old enough to be replaced, however it’s also not young enough to cool our new home with ease, but every summer, I notice a spike in our energy consumption due to the heating and cooling system, it’s nothing to be alarmed about, however it does make me know think about how I cool my new home during the summer.

The Summer heat can be disappointing where I live and the humidity levels are intense, but pair the heat and humidity together and it makes for difficult work for my air conditioner.

I spoke with our heating and cooling specialist about the state of our AC system and she suggested I try a few things! One, I needed to replace my air filters properly and have my heating and cooling system maintained at least twice per year. This would ensure that our air conditioner ran as efficiently as possible. Next, she recommended something unexpected. She told me to consider a ductless mini split system in my living room because it would take the stress off of our a/c. Of course, there were other alternatives like a portable fan or a window AC unit, however the ductless system was a cost effective way to cool our study room during the mornings separate from relying on my a/c to do all the work. I’m still thinking about what she told me and trying to consider how beneficial it would be to me, however it sounds like a great option. Even if I don’t do the ductless system, I need to consider something else.
