Finding weird things during the cleaning

I’ve been genuinely working with my dad recently at the a/c and heating dealer he’s been genuinely working for, but I didn’t know my dad loved being an a/c specialist as much as I do now that I’ve seen him do the work on a regular basis.

It’s absolutely not all glitz and glamor to work as a specialist though.

Last year we had a job cleaning the ductworks of a pretty outdated home. I don’t think the owners have been living there for quite some time, so this was just routine repair that was already a part of their repair plan they had set up with the last specialist that ran tests on it. I knew the ductworks were going to be gross because there was a wicked smell that came from the air vent right when we walked into the house. The ductworks were filled with dead rats and mice, and lots of dead cockroaches as well, and we recommended they call an exterminator or some type of pest control repair to make sure those creatures stay away and out of the ductworks. I hope they took our advice because that was the worst house I’ve seen since genuinely working with my dad. I think moments like that make him feel embarrassed about what he does, but I don’t think one instance like that should give an entire opinion about the work itself. I’m easily proud of him and happy to continue learning from him. I’m even thinking that this could be a work path for me as well.
