There is a lot of one-one-one connection that is built between designers and companies
I live in a really warm climate, so I constantly see air conditioning vans and trucks throughout the summertime. It’s pretty easy to spot them since their entire marketing strategy is to spotlight air conditioning and heating right on the van itself. I think it’s genius though because when you need an air conditioning company, our brains easily recall images and visuals that we have recently seen. There are so many local air conditioning companies in the area, but I always remember the ones that have really elaborate marketing on their vehicles. The technicians also always wear the company’s t-shirts that often have the same logos and designs, so you really get the entire picture and commit it to memory. My friend’s dad owns a business and their air conditioner recently broke, and I was able to give him the name of three or four air conditioning companies just solely based on my memory of their vans and trucks. This is the reason why marketing is so important. I’m studying marketing and graphic design in college and it is honestly such an underlooked profession. I think that people think this stuff is easy, but it’s simply not. You have to really think outside of the box and put yourself out there to understand the audience and their needs. There is a lot of one-one-one connection that is built between designers and companies. I’m excited to continue learning more. My professors are awesome and the program is one of the best in the state! I hope to work with small businesses in the future.
