Air Conditioner Relief

My air conditioner isn’t old enough to be replaced, but it’s also not young enough to cool my house with ease.

Every summer, I notice a spike in my energy consumption due to my HVAc system.

It’s nothing to be alarmed about, but it does make me think twice about how I cool my house during the summer. The summer heat can be excruciating where I live and the humidity levels are intense. Pair the heat and humidity together and it makes for a tough job for my air conditioner. I spoke with my HVAC technician about the state of my AC system and he recommended I try a few things. One, I needed to replace my air filters regularly and have my HVAC system serviced at least twice per year. This would ensure that my air conditioner ran as efficiently as possible. Next, he suggested something unexpected. He told me to consider a ductless mini split system in my bedroom because it would take the stress off of my air conditioner. Of course, there were other alternatives like a portable fan or a window AC unit, but the ductless system was a cost effective way to cool my bedroom during the evenings without relying on my air conditioner to do all the work. I’m still thinking about what he told me and trying to consider how beneficial it would be to me, but it sounds like a great option. Even if I don’t do the ductless system, I need to consider something else.
