We stayed happier overall after upgrading the furnace in December amid a blizzard

It’s nice making more money at my job and being able to pay off debt that has been looming on the horizon for so many years.

I know that my wife’s stress level has dropped significantly after we stopped living paycheck to paycheck.

She was used to a financial cushion at a young age and it took her some years of adjustment to get used to living without one. Now I feel better because we’re not just paying off debt, we’re also putting aside money in our savings account for a rainy day. I thought I would be forced to mortgage my house just to get a little bit of additional spending money flowing, but now I don’t have to. Instead of adding to our debt, I am finally pulling us out of it for good. We had put our heads together at one point and wondered what we’d do to the house as far as upgrades are concerned if we ever had the money to do it. We both agreed at that time to get a new furnace to stay warmer during the winter blizzards. It was already December and not necessarily the best time to get a heating system installed, but I didn’t care. We called our HVAC supplier to get quotes on a quality furnace to replace our old one. The great HVAC team even finished the furnace installation as a blizzard began. Their heating and cooling trucks left my driveway right as the snow began to fall. We’re now more comfortable than ever before during a time of the year that is always uncomfortably cold for us all.
