It was like a scene out of an old movie or something.
Truly, it was so strange that I was actually packing up the car for a months long road trip.
It was like a traveling salesman who was out on the road back in the day. Yet, the idea of leaving my wife and the perfect quality heating and air for 10 weeks was not my idea of the way to spend a summer. That goes double for having to do it in this region. When our company closed down the office with the zone controlled HVAC due to the pandemic, many were able to work from home. While I could do some things from my own air conditioning, a big chunk of my job was being onsite and that came with plenty of air travel. Since we weren’t flying, the company sort of gave us territories we had to go out and serve. The backlog meant I would most likely be out on the road all summer. So I had the air conditioning in my car checked and packed up my gear. It was weird saying goodbye to the quality heating and air of my house but even tougher to kiss my wife goodbye. I think the longest we had been apart was maybe 10 days in a row over the past nearly 20 years. However, I hit on my lodging choices right away and they had everything to do with good HVAC. If I could see the HVAC equipment coming out of the wall, then that was the sort of HVAC cooling comfort I knew I could count on.
