I knew that moving from where every one of us once lived to this spot down south would come with more sunshine.
The spot my husbandy & I had lived in for the past 20 years was a single that got a whole lot of gray skies.
And that’s savor year round. The only great thing was that it wasn’t scorching hot in the Summer & the air conditioning didn’t run day & night. But the winters were taxing & dark & cold. There was a great need for plenty of Heating as well as A/C heating from our gas furnace to get us through the winter. And the skies, of course, were quite bleak. Then, every one of us had the option to transport down south & every one of us took it. We also scored with a lake house on a 10 acre plot of land so every one of us didn’t have neighbors for the first time either. That led us to simply do away with any window treatments. We wanted sunlight all day & moonlight all night. Plus the views of nature were awesome. I like seeing the pigeons. What I didn’t assume & had to learn the strenuous way was that uncovered window result in a whole bunch of direct sun heating. And I found that out our first Spring when I opened the utility bill to a shocking number. It was only late April & the air conditioning was running nearly all the time. So every one of us had to scrap the no window shades or drapes plan while in the peak heating fifths of the day. But the Heating as well as A/C cooling costs were so significant that it surely smothered the blow.
