Sharing the home gym

When the COVID lockdown first started, I realized that I needed to convert my garage into a workout space.

If we were going to be inside for any amount of time, I needed a way to keep my body fit and in top shape.

I wasn’t alone, either, and the more of my friends I talked to, the more I realized we were all thinking the same thing. After some talks, we decided that three of us would work together, and make my garage a really great home gym that we could all share. I had the space, and I had a killer light and sound system to make it sparkle, but I needed more gym equipment. Combined, the three of us managed to put together a fairly respectable corner of the room for weight lifting. We also had a treadmill and a stair stepper, and a few other pieces of gym equipment, that would provide a decent enough setting for an all-around workout. We had to schedule our own times for the home gym, not because there wasn’t enough space but because of that light and sound system. The music in the gym is connected to the LED lights, so they flash and pulse in different colors in time with the music. I can’t follow my workout program without the music, but the other guys find the lights distracting when they try to exercise. We made a pretty easy schedule to follow, so that we each have our own special time in the home gym where we can do it just the way we like it.
