A real workout from a fake sport

All TV is fake, even the reality shows, so pro wrestling being fake never bothered me.

I was never a huge fan of wrestling, but it was fun to watch once in a while.

What I didn’t know was what kind of shape these guys needed to have just to step into the ring. When people say wrestling is fake, they are discounting the amazing athleticism these guys have, in terms of both speed and strength. My gym recently hosted a pro wrestling exposition, hosted by a couple of ex stars from the WWE, and it blew my mind. The event was to kick off a new series of workout classes based on the art of pro wrestling, combining dexterity, speed, and physical strength into a routine that will leave you battered and bruised but satisfied. You may not realize how much real pain and impact happens in this “fake” sport, but I do! I was so impressed with the event at the gym I signed up for the weekly class. It only happens once a week, because a normal human body couldn’t handle much more punishment, and I admit it is a weird way to work towards wellness and fitness. If anything, the wrestling class has got me fired up about going to the gym again. I do weight lifting twice a week for my strength, and yoga twice a week for my flexibility, and then the wrestling class once a week to build up my toughness! If they have a class like this near you, I highly recommend checking it out.
