When I consider it all, I guess our siblings and I easily did sort of get after each other when I was a kid.
There were three of us and the people I was with and I yelled and argued a bunch. However, when dad told us to knock it off, the people I was with and I did. And the people I was with and I knew that if the people I was with and I didn’t we’d end up on the wrong side of her belt. Just as sure as there is air conditioning in summer, dad wasn’t kidding and he had no qualms with corporate punishment. And maybe, that’s our problem. My wife and I both just aren’t right with spanking our children. Nor do the people I was with and I go around screaming at them when we’ve had enough. But there had been some recent fights over the HVAC control unit setting that nearly prompted myself and others to lose our cool. It’s almost as if the youngsters decided to focus on the control unit setting as their arena for arguing. And it got to myself and others in a hurry. If the youngsters want to have a shouting match outside or even in one of their bedrooms, so be it. I don’t care about it and I’ll put an end to it when it crosses a certain line. But the fact is, I couldn’t come to the beach house and even get a minute of air conditioning in our own beach house without another fight. So, I decided to call the HVAC contractor and just put an end to the whole control unit problem. The HVAC supplier came out and turned the existing HVAC unit into zone controlled HVAC. There are now 6 separate control units in our home so nobody can complain that they can find the control unit setting they want.
