When we were at the doctor’s, the radiators came on

When we were at the doctor’s office yesterday, the radiators in the office came on for the first time of the year.

The weather has just started going off around here, and the temperatures are getting much colder.

We were at the doctor’s office because my daughter has an ear infection and so she was cold and feeling yucky. Whenever we first arrived to check in for our appointment, we both noticed that the lobby was really cold inside. It did not even feel like they had the thermostat turned up at all inside of the office. We actually sat there in the waiting room in our winter coats until they called us back for our appointment. However, while we were in the exam room, there was a weird rattling sound all of a sudden and then we noticed this yucky burning smell in the room. After that, there was a weird hissing sound coming from the heating vents. We started to panic and think that maybe there was something going on in the office building. Honestly, we were kind of waiting to see if the sprinklers were going to go off. Thankfully, nothing like that happened. When the nurse came in to get my daughter’s vital signs she mentioned that they had finally decided to turn the heating system on and that was why the smell had started coming from the heating vents. Apparently, every year when they turn the heating on for the first time, they always experience that terrible smell and some noise from the furnace system.
